The tube (1) has a closure unit (4) keeping longitudinal edges (3) along longitudinal slots (2) in a plane in an aligned manner. The closure unit is a separate profile part, which has a cross-sectional form in such a manner that a middle bar of the profile part lies between the longitudinal edges of the tube. An upper side of the tube is covered along the longitudinal edges by the profile part, and inner sides of the tube are underlaid by the profile part. The closure unit is formed from a colorless, flexible plastic material e.g. polyurethane, polypropylene, polyethylene or PVC. An independent claim is also included for an auxiliary tool for a cable protective tube.
