Method for determining the road surface of a parking space

The method involves determining points near to surface of the surrounding of a motor vehicle and determining a virtual level of near surface points. The virtual level is compared with a track level assumed to a vehicle level. The virtual track level is considered as track level, if the angular difference between the assumed track level and the track level is larger as predetermined value.
