The method involves receiving a content address e.g. uniform resource locator, and additional data associated with the address. The received address is compared with other content addresses that are recorded for determining a common address portion. Recurrent additional data is identified from the additional data associated with the received address and with the recorded addresses having the common address portion. The common address portion and the identified associated recurrent additional data are recorded in a memory unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for transmitting additional data from a content address to be transmitted on a network (2) a data processing device comprising a processing unit (3) an application server comprising a processing unit.
