The method involves providing an electrolyte-solution-gate FET, a capacitively controlled FET, a Kelvin sensor or a gas sensitive section as a gas sensor, which changes resistance with gas exposition, where a sensor signal (20) of the gas sensor depends on target gas concentration (21) during constant temperature. The temperature of the gas sensor is regulated such that the sensor signal is independent from the target gas concentration and lies in modulation range (30), where the temperature of the gas sensor is measurement of the target gas concentration.
