PURPOSE: A honeycomb filter is provided to prevent damage generated in the surface of the honeycomb by reducing pressure applied on the honeycomb structure with a ceramic block and a coating layer. CONSTITUTION: A honeycomb filter(100) includes a ceramic block(103) and a coating layer(102). A plurality of cells are formed to a longitudinal direction. The ceramic block is formed by combining honeycomb sintering bodies(110) with an adhesive layer(101). The coating layer is formed on an outer circumference(13) of the ceramic block. The honeycomb sintering body is made of silicon carbide or silicon containing silicon carbide. A protrusion formed on an outer circumference of the ceramic block includes a protrusion part. The coating layer is formed according to the protrusion on the outer circumference of the ceramic block. |
