FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine and is meant for performing photodynamic therapy. Method provides injection of antimicrobial compound including erythrosine B as photosensitiser in gel to the area subject to treatment. For the specified time they wait for the above erythrosine B to be bound with bacteria in the above area. The above area is subject to radiation with the specified wave length in order to activate the above erythrosine B and at that, to stimulate photodynamic reaction to destroy the above bacteria without damaging natural microflora. Antimicrobial composition used for photodynamic therapy includes erythrosine B and gel containing the component required for solubilisation of the above erythrosine B, where erythrosine B has concentration of 1 mM to 8 mM per 0.5 ml of this composition. ^ EFFECT: proposed method and composition allow selectively destroying gram-positive bacteria, maintaining normal microflora and providing localisation of exposure. ^ 22 cl, 2 ex, 4 dwg
