Tested people start and finish 5-minute step-test with 10 sec interval after their predecessor, after finishing which during first 10 sec frequency of cardiac contractions is calculated on carotid artery. By von Dobeln formula level of maximal oxygen consumption by organism in 1 min is calculated and estimated taking into account mean-square deviation from average group value of individual values. ^ EFFECT: method is safe, informative, increases productivity of labour spent on determining level of maximal oxygen consumption by organism in 10-12 times.
