The specification discloses bag making apparatus for making a tube from plastics material web material and for making bags therefrom, the apparatus (10) including a support frame (11) defining a desired internal area of the tube formed thereon, first plastics material film web dispensing means (26, 27, 28, 29) for dispensing first film webs (30) in a longitudinal direction relative to the support frame (11) such that the film webs (30) overlap and adhere to one another, a second plastics material film web dispensing means (31) for laying at least one further film web (32) in overlapping spirals over the longitudinally extending first film webs (30), and a third plastics material film web dispensing means (34, 35, 36, 37) for dispensing third film webs (38) in a longitudinal direction relative to the support frame (11) over the overlapping spiral web material (32), the apparatus further including movement conveyor means (15) extending longitudinally of the support frame (11) to enable the tube formed thereon to be moved to a discharge region and transverse tube sealing means (21) and associated transverse tube separation means (23). |
