Disclosed is a compound of formula (I), or a salt, hydrate or solvate thereof, wherein R2 and R3 can together form a six membered ring, or are as described with the rest of the substituents in the specification. Also disclosed is a method of synthesis for the compound, and te use of the compound to treat diseases requiring modulation of FGFs, cancers, cardiovascular diseases, vascular complications of diabetes such as diabetic retinopathy, chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or IBD, osteoarthritis, achondroplasia (ACH), hypochondroplasia (HCH), TD (thanatophoric dysplasia), obesity, or macular degenerationsuch as age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
