PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-shrinking braided wire and its manufacturing method for having shrinking force in a direction shrinking its cross section by making use of repulsive force of a bending peculiarity given to a metal wire in advance. SOLUTION: The self-shrinking braided wire 100 uses the metal wire 101 made of an alloy consisting of aluminum with large elasticity, iron, and copper as principal components, and is formed by reversing the bending direction given to the metal wire 101 and the winding direction in braiding. The flat-shaped metal wire 101 wherein the cross-sectioned shape is an ellipse, an elongated circle, or a rectangle is used in order to prevent the metal wire from rotating in braiding of the metal wire 101.
