PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absolute value type magnetic scale device for lessening influence of a magnetic flux of a first magnetic track on a second magnetic track even when a separation distance between the first magnetic track and the second magnetic track is short. SOLUTION: The absolute value type magnetic scale device 1 includes a magnetic scale 2, a detection head 3, and a detector 4. The magnetic scale 2 includes: a first magnetic track 11 for recording a first magnetic pattern 11a expressing a non-repeating code; a second magnetic track for recording a second magnetic pattern for repeating a constant cycle by setting a prescribed interval with the first magnetic track to be extended in parallel; and a third magnetic track for recording a third magnetic pattern making reverse polarity of the first magnetic pattern by being adjacently arranged on a second magnetic track side of the first magnetic track.
