PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral view support device can contribute to further improvement of safety by informing a driver of the existence of a vehicle approaching from the rear visually and adequately without a sense of discomfort. SOLUTION: Two cameras monitor right and left areas behind of a vehicle, and the monitored images are displayed on respective independent right and left monitors in real time. A radar sensor provided to the rear part of the vehicle monitors another vehicle approaching from the rear. When it is determined to be a dangerous situation by a vehicle-to-vehicle distance and/or a relative vehicle speed, a superimpose image P is superimposed in a superimpose display area 5a which is a right part of the screen of the left monitor 5, for example.
