PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lawn mower composed of a traveling body furnished with a lawn mowing mechanism and a grass collection box connected to a discharging duct extending from the lawn mowing mechanism and capable of surely detecting the accumulation of a specified amount of mowed grass in the grass collection box. SOLUTION: A bottom guiding plate 28 protruding toward a discharging duct is attached in a vertically tiltable manner to the bottom of an opening to receive mowed grass from the discharging duct in a grass collection box 18, and an accumulated grass detecting means for detecting the amount of mowed grass accumulated in the grass collection box 18 by the downward tilting of the bottom guiding plate is placed on the traveling body side.
