Provided is an illuminating apparatus using a light emitting diode (LED). The illuminating apparatus includes: a body part having a plurality of inclined surfaces inclined at different inclination angles to a reference surface; a plurality of light source mounting boards respectively disposed on the plurality of inclined surfaces; and a plurality of light source units coupled to the light source mounting boards and emitting light, and each comprising a light emitting diode (LED) chip, wherein the number of the light source units is determined so that luminous intensity at a surface parallel to the reference surface is uniform.
