PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape memory alloy which contains an element with a low-melting point and is excellent in cold workability. SOLUTION: The shape memory alloy comprises: a first element which contributes to theβ-phase stabilization of Ti, for example, 1 to 9 mol% of one element selected from Fe and Cr or 1 to 9 mol% in total of the two elements; a second element which contributes to the suppression ofωbrittleness and thermal elasticizing of martensite, for example, 1-9 mol% of one element selected from Sn and Au or 1-9 mol% in total of the two elements; and the remainder consisting of Ti and inevitable impurities.
