<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the contact state of a probe distal end and bubbles collectively to accurately obtain bubble chord length, bubble diameters, interface speed, bubble volume fractions, and the like in bubble measurement using an optical fiber probe. <P>SOLUTION: A bubble measuring device comprises: an optical fiber probe 1 that comprises an optical fiber having first end faces 2, 3 at least partially inclined to a direction vertical to a fiber axis while the first end faces are arranged in liquid; a light supply means 8 for supplying light from a second end face 6 at a side opposite to the first end face of the optical fiber; a quantity-of-reflected-light measurement means 12 for measuring the quantity of reflected light returning to the second end face after light supplied by the light supply means is reflected on the first end face; and a signal processing means for measuring bubbles in liquid, based on the measurement result of the quantity of reflected light. In the bubble measuring device, the signal processing means further has a means for determining the contact state of the first end face and bubbles, based on a pre-signal of the quantity of reflected light generated before the first end face comes into contact with bubbles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
