PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device capable of correctly measuring a linear travel distance of an operation button even in an environment where temperature varies. SOLUTION: This input device is provided with: a housing 6 fixed on a board 2; an operation button 13 mounted in a state vertically movably and elastically supported to the housing 6; a detection object bar 20 integrally connected to the back surface of the operation button 13; a photo interrupter 24 counting the linear travel distance of the detection object bar 20 vertically moving along with the operation button 13 when the operation button 13 is depressed. Multiple slits 22 are formed at a detection end 21b of the detection object bar 20 at predetermined intervals in the movement direction of the detection end 21b, and the photo interrupter 24 includes a pair of light emitting part and light reception part facing each other.
