PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the efficiency of solid-liquid separation in a sludge flocculating apparatus for flocculating sludge fed to a solid-liquid separating device, by separating moisture from the sludge before fed to the solid-liquid separating device to increase the solid concentration of the sludge, and by feeding the sludge with the increased concentration to the solid-liquid separating device. SOLUTION: The sludge flocculating apparatus is provided with: a filter body 19 set in a mixing tank receiving sludge and a flocculant, and having a plurality of fixed rings 17 set with spaces from each other and movable rings 18 set between adjacent fixed rings 17; driving rods 38 rotating the movable rings 18 around the central axes X thereof; and cleaning members rotating around the fixed rings 17 while being in slide contact with outer circumferential surfaces of the fixed rings 17. Filtrate is made to flow into the filter body 19 through filtrate flow-in gaps g of the filter body 19 to increase the solid concentration of the sludge. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
