METHOD FOR PREPARING ACRYLIC ACID FROM GLYCEROL

The invention relates to a method for preparing acrylic acid from an aqueous glycerol solution that comprises: a first step of dehydration of the glycerol into acrolein carried out in a gaseous phase in the presence of a catalyst and under a pressure of between 1 and 5 bars; and a second step of oxidising the acrolein into acrylic acid; wherein the method includes an intermediate step that comprises condensing at least a portion of the water and the heavy by-products present in the flow resulting from the first dehydration step. The method can be used for providing higher acrylic acid yield and selectivity.
