<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser source securing mechanism firmly securing a laser source while maintaining its holder (frame) in a simple shape without changing its attaching state even at high temperature, and to provide an optical head. <P>SOLUTION: In a holder 65 (laser source securing mechanism) having laser sources (a first laser source 101 and a second laser source 102) and a mounting hole 67 to insert the laser sources to be fixed, the mounting hole 67 is formed in the direction of emitting the laser beams from the laser sources. On the inner wall of the mounting hole 67, press fitting sections 671a to fit the laser sources and the grooves 671b facing the laser sources with a predetermined clearance are formed alternately in the circumferential direction, when the laser sources are fixed.
