<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processing apparatus where, using a semiconductor laser device, repeated durability is improved, and also, by regulating irradiation power, the thickness of a drawn line can be changed even without changing irradiation distance. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is an image processing method including at least one of an image recording step of recording an image onto a thermoreversible recording medium in which transparency or color tone reversibly changes depending upon temperature, by irradiating a laser beam with the use of a semiconductor laser so as to heat the thermoreversible recording medium, and an image erasing step of erasing an image recorded on the thermoreversible recording medium, by heating the thermoreversible recording medium, wherein an intensity distribution of the laser beam irradiated in the image recording step satisfies the relationship represented by Expression 1: 1.20≤I<SB>1</SB>/I<SB>2</SB>≤1.29; where I<SB>1</SB>denotes an irradiation intensity of the irradiated laser beam in a central position of the irradiated laser beam, and I<SB>2</SB>denotes an irradiation intensity of the irradiated laser beam on a plane corresponding to 95% of the total irradiation energy of the irradiated laser beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
