PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of a program selection apparatus for controlling video data of a program, in a receiver, so as to select programs under broadcasting at present and scheduled to be broadcasted in future. SOLUTION: A user interface, which is displayed on a display screen together with video images of a program being viewed at present, includes: a first area for displaying program title information of a first program being selected; and second areas, disposed around the first area, for displaying respectively program title information of a plurality of second programs comprising optional attribute values selected from among attribute values in program attribute information that the first program includes. When desired one of the plurality of second programs is selected by inputting an instruction from a user, program title information of the selected program is displayed in the first area and further, program title information of other program is displayed in the second area, the other program having an optional attribute value selected from among attribute values in program attribute information that the selected program includes.
