PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device capable of preventing, as further as possible, surrounding persons from being troubled with leaked light from a display device even when a device may have to be used in a movie theater wherein it is made dark. SOLUTION: A cellular phone includes: a first cabinet 1; a second cabinet 2 that can be opened/closed with respect to the first cabinet 1; a main display panel 21 disposed in the second cabinet 2; a rotating angle sensor 35 for detecting a rotating angle of the second cabinet 2 in order to detect an opening speed of the second cabinet 2; and a CPU 100 for controlling the main display panel 21 and a main back light 22 for supplying light to the main display panel 21. When the second cabinet 2 is opened, the slower the opening speed, the more the CPU 100 reduces luminance of the main back light 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
