PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide operation type electric component, which can relatively freely set click feeling at slide operation, and can prevent an increase in a size. SOLUTION: A slider 2 includes a pair of projections 21, 22 extending along a predetermined direction. The respective projections 21, 22 are inserted in guide paths 31, 32 of a holding case 3, and can slide and move along guide surfaces 33, 34. A cutout 26 opening to a projection end surface side is formed on the projection 21. A steel ball 7 elastically biased by a coil spring 6 is in elastic contact with an inner wall surface 26a of the cutout 26. The cutout 26 has a tapered shape from an opening end side to an inner side. A click groove 27 formed on an innermost part of the cutout 26 is engaged with and disengage from the steel ball 7 to generate the click feeling. The coil spring 6 is housed in a spring housing part 35 of the holding case 3, and the spring housing part 35 is faced to the guide path 31 and is arranged sequentially to the guide surface 33.
