PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle drive device in which vibration during traveling is reduced. SOLUTION: The vehicle drive device includes: an engine 1000; a transmission, which changes the speed of the power of the engine 1000 to a plurality of gear stages; a propeller shaft 9200 including a joint 9202 provided at the transmission side; a joint 9206 provided at the driving wheel side, and a joint 9204 provided between the joints 9202 and 9206; and a center bearing 9210, which retains variably the position of a portion between the joints 9202 and 9206 of the propeller shaft 9200. A controller 8000 determines the position of the center bearing 9210 according to a set gear stage G of a plurality of the gear stages of the transmission and the opening Acc of the accelerator.
