PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of immediately starting reception of a next print job from another device when a print job is canceled. SOLUTION: In this image forming apparatus, a CPU as a processing means of print data relating to a print job performs switching from a main task processing means (task 1) to a sub-task processing means (task 2, 3, or other) when the CPU detects a cancel signal of the print job. The sub-task processing means receives print data transmitted as a print job and performs processing for reading and discarding the print data.
