PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gravure coater which can prevent a coating film cut in the surface of a gravure roll. SOLUTION: The gravure coating apparatus 10 includes the gravure roll 21 coating a thin film 50 with a coating material 18, a nozzle block 25 provided with a supply groove 25b along the outer periphery of a large-diameter part 21a of the gravure roll 21, and a supply passage 25a supplying the coating material 18 to the supply groove 25b formed in the nozzle block 25, and is characterized in that the upper surface of the nozzle block 25 is provided with a liquid splash-preventing plate 26 having a wall surface part 26c extending upward, and a dam plate 27 having an inner wall surface 27a, and in that the liquid splash-preventing plate 26 and the dam plate 27 increases the reservoir of the coating material 18.
