PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head speed measuring apparatus for measuring the highest head speed when a golf club is swung. SOLUTION: The head speed measuring apparatus 51 includes: a golf ball fixing section 42 provided with a fixing surface for fixing a golf ball 41 at a prescribed position on one end, projected from a horizontal surface (ground surface) and installed; a doppler sensor 11 for converting the moving state of a head 44 at the distal end of the golf club 43 into a frequency when the golf club 43 is swung and outputting it to the outside as a detection signal; and a speed calculation control section 21 for calculating the head speed on the basis of the frequency of the detection signal.
