PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which enables a user who instructs printing from an external apparatus to surely process stored printing data, and to provide an image forming system, an image forming method, and a program.

SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus which stores printing data including user information received from the external apparatus into a storage part and carries out printing processing of the printing data according to printing instructions to the stored printing data, printing data including the same user information as the user information included in the newly received printing data is searched for from the storage part. In the case where the printing data is searched from the storage part, the external apparatus is informed that the printing data is stored.
