PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and safely check operating state without needing troublesome work. SOLUTION: When a mode selector switch 26 sets an inspection mode, a control section 24 provided in a terminal floor forced reduction gear 23 performs inspection operation for a car 13 at a constant speed lower than a rated speed. The car 13 is controlled to be stopped by comparing speed data when the car 13 passes through limit switches 12a, 12b, 12c during the inspection operation with limiting speed data for inspection operation predetermined in a second memory section 29.
