PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidity-conditioning building material formed with a patterning glaze layer of high designability on the surface after ensuring humidity conditioning performance. SOLUTION: The humidity-conditioning building material is provided with a backing glaze layer having ventilating property, on the surface of a building material body having moisture absorbing and desorbing ability, and a patterning glaze layer having ventilating property, on the backing glaze layer. A backing glaze for forming the backing glaze layer is applied onto a building material green body 4 baked to become a building material body, to form the backing glaze layer 5. Spherical granulated powder 2 of a patterning glaze for forming the patterning glaze layer is supplied to a patterning part on the backing glaze layer 5 and then baking is carried out to manufacture the humidity-conditioning building material.
