PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel monoclonal antibody having a binding specificity to GALP (Galanin-like Peptide) or its derivative, which is useful in developing therapeutic agents, preventive agents or diagnostic agent for diseases associated with the GALP or its derivative, and to provide a method of quantifying the GALP using the antibody. SOLUTION: An antibody specifically reacting with a partial peptide in the C-terminal region of a polypeptide having a specific amino acid sequence or its derivative, and a method for quantifying the GALP or its derivative are disclosed therein.
