PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing carbon dioxide under a mild condition. SOLUTION: Provided is a method of reacting allyl alcohol, etc., with a compound expressed by general formula (3): t-BuOY (in the formula, Y is Cl, Br or I) and carbon dioxide, thereby converting the carbon dioxide e.g. to a compound expressed by general formula (4) (in the formula, X<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>are each H; Y is Cl; and n is 1 or 2).
