The method involves evaluating an image data set with the help of a segmenting algorithm and identifying the epicardial fat (F) and the heart tissues (H). The results of the evaluation are compared with a reference data deposited in a data collection (19). A calcium scoring test is obtained by the image data set. An independent claim is included for a device for determining the quantity of epicardial fat.
