The invention relates to an ex vivomethod of prognosticating metastasis in a cancer patient comprising identifying differential modulation of a gene (relative to the expression of a same gene in a control) in a combination of genes selected from the groups consisting of genes represented by the following sequences SEQ ID NO:1-76 and/or SEQ ID NO:77-108. The invention also relates to the use of one of the following sequences selected from the following groups SEQ ID NO:1-76 and/or SEQ ID NO:77- 108 as a medicament, preferably for preventing, delaying and/or treating metastasis in a cancer patient.
