<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method and a lithographic printing plate precursor wherein the printing plate is directly made from digital data of a computer or the like by making recording with a solid-state laser which emits ultraviolet light or visible light and semiconductor laser light, and developed particularly with an aqueous solution having pH of ≤10, and provided a lithographic printing plate having high printing durability and good soiling resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The method for preparing a lithographic printing plate includes: imagewise exposing a lithographic printing plate precursor having on a support at least an image forming layer containing a binder polymer, a radical polymerizable compound, a polymerization initiator, a sensitizing dye and heat-fusible resin fine particles; removing a non-image area by development; and drying at a temperature not less than a heat fusion temperature of the heat-fusible resin fine particles.
