<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic music playing device can carry out a plurality of different types (conversion modes) of note conversions in one channel. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic music playing device stores a plurality of music playing pattern data, corresponding to the plurality of channels, and stores information as to the note conversion in each hannel in each of a plurality of pitch ranges, corresponding to each of the plurality of channels. The pitch range with pitch information belonging thereto is determined in any of the plurality of pitch ranges when reading out the pitch information sequentially from the music playing pattern data, and the information as to the note conversion in the one channel is predetermined based on the determined pitch range. A note conversion means executes the processing of note-converting the pitch information read out sequentially from the music playing pattern data, based on information as to the predetermined note conversion.
