<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which can improve cycle characteristics while maintaining initial charge/discharge characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes a cathode 21 and an anode 22 and an electrolyte solution as well and the electrolyte solution is impregnated in a separator 23 which is arranged between the cathode 21 and the anode 22. An anode active substance layer 22B of the anode 22 contains a plurality of anode active substance particles having silicon, oxide containing membrane for covering a surface of the anode active substance particles, and a metallic material, which does not make alloy with lithium, arranged in a space in the anode active substance layer 22B. A solvent of the electrolyte solution contains an organic acid which has a portion including an electron attractive group such as -(O=)C-C(=O)-bond or the like in a center and a hydroxyl group on both ends as well. While charging and discharging, an expansion and compression of the anode active substance layer 22B is controlled and a decomposing reaction of the electrolyte solution is controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
