PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp which prevents oxidization of a surface facing an external lead side conductor in a conductive foil. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp includes: a discharge container consisting of a light emitting tube in which a light emitting space is available and sealing tubes connected with both ends of the light emitting tube; a sealing insulation body arranged in the sealing tubes; electrodes arranged to face each other on a side of the light emitting tube inside the discharge container; a conductive foil which is electrically connected with the electrodes and is arranged between the sealing tube and the sealing insulation body; a conductor which is electrically connected with the conductive foil with a joint portion in-between and is arranged outside of the sealing insulation body; and an external lead electrically connected with the conductor. At least on a surface facing the conductor in the conductive foil, there is arranged an oxidation protective film. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
