The machine has a stator (10) enclosing a rotor, and flange arrangements (22a, 22b) provided on end faces (10a, 10b) of the stator. Cup-shaped flange components (24a, 24b) of the flange arrangements comprise a connecting surface adjoining the end faces of the stator. Geometry of the flange component is equal to geometry of the end faces of the stator such that a stator winding connects the stator and the flange component to one another. The stator winding is wound onto the stator and the connecting surface. The connecting surface forms cup bottoms (26a, 26b).
