PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proxy method and related apparatus for representing a non-UPnP (universal plug and play) device attempting for making it participate in a UPnP network system. SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: providing media information for a control point to establish communication with the control point; receiving a control message which is generated, based on the media information by the control point and is used for controlling one from among a plurality of services; outputting a control indication corresponding to the service to the non-UpnP device which copes with the control message; receiving a confirmation response, indication generated according to the control indication by the non-UPnP device; and outputting a response message to be used for a UPnP function to the control point, based on the confirmation response.
