PURPOSE: A composition for preventing and treating diabetes, which contains Glycine max L. extract is provided to reduce blood sugar and hemoglobin A1c of mouse. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating diabetes or reducing blood sugar comprises Glycine max L. extract as an active ingredient. The Glycine max L. extract is isolated using water, ethanol, methanol, and their mixture solvent. The Glycine max L. extract is contained in 0.1 ~ 50 % weight based on total weight.
