<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foil bearing for suppressing the deviation of a shaft in the radial direction, and to provide a centrifugal compressor using the same. <P>SOLUTION: On the foil bearing 6, a deviation suppressing part 62 serving as a fixing member for fixing top foil 61 has its tip 63 directed to a rotating shaft 9. A film of molybdenum disulfide (MoS<SB>2</SB>) is formed at the tip 63. In a state of the centrifugal compressor is operated, a gas film is formed between the top foil 61 and the rotating shaft 9 to keep a non-contact state therebetween. However, when a radial force is applied to a rotary blade, following the deviation of the rotary blade, the deviation of the rotating shaft 9 occurs. When the deviation is equal to a distance d between the tip 63 and the rotating shaft 9, the tip 63 of the deviation suppressing part 62 has contact with the rotating shaft 9 to support the rotating shaft 9 in contact, therefore suppressing the displacement of the rotating shaft 9 beyond the distance d in the radial direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
