<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to sound a buzzer at the timing desired to sound the buzzer while reducing a processing load in case of sounding the buzzer under the control of sounding the buzzer many times with less number of commands. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 1 having the buzzer 40 receives printing data in which the data of four kinds of a printer setting command, a buzzer setting command, a printer control command, and a printer closing command from a host apparatus 2 are arrayed. The buzzer setting command is a command for setting the conditions for sounding the buzzer 40 and a sounding method. For the buzzer setting command, a command for specifying a page ejection command is designated as a trigger command for sounding the buzzer 40 from the commands included in the printer control command.
