PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ribbon type microphone which has enhanced shock resistance by devising internal electric connections and taking measures in the microphone against impulse force. SOLUTION: The ribbon type microphone includes a magnet forming a magnetic gap, a ribbon type diaphragm which is disposed in the magnetic gap and vibrates with a sound wave, a frame which holds the magnet and both lengthwise ends of the ribbon type diaphragm, and a microphone-side connector 60 which electrically connects both ends of the ribbon type diaphragm to a cable-side connector. The microphone-side connector 60 has a switch 100 which switches by attachment and detachment of the cable-side connector 80, and the switch 100 electrically opens both ends of the ribbon type diaphragm when the microphone-side connector 60 and cable-side connector 80 are coupled to each other and electrically short-circuits both ends of the ribbon type diaphragm when the cable-side connector 80 is extracted from the microphone-side connector 60.
