<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable handrail device which enables smooth sliding motion suppressing the occurrence of wobbling caused by the reduction of a contact area of a portion fitting a handrail body and a connecting body to each other. <P>SOLUTION: The movable connection-type handrail devices 8 and 9 are equipped with the connecting body 48 which makes a pair of handrail bodies 10 and 11 overlap each other and slidably connects the handrail bodies 10 and 11 to each other. The handrail bodies 10 and 11 have upper grooves 32 and 33 and lower grooves 41 and 42 which are formed in a sliding direction; and the connecting body 48 has protrusions 53 and 54 which can be slidably fitted into the upper grooves 32 and 33 and the lower grooves 41 and 42. Contact resistance between the handrail bodies 10 and 11 and the connecting body is decreased by reducing the contact area of the portion fitting the handrail bodies 10 and 11 and the connecting body 48 to each other.
