CATALYST FOR PRODUCING CARBON NANOCOIL, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBON NANOCOIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for producing a carbon nanocoil, which is suitable for stably producing the carbon nanocoils having reduced variance in outside diameters of carbon fibers and coil diameters, and to provide a method for manufacturing the catalyst for producing the carbon nanocoil and a method for producing the carbon nanocoil by using the catalyst for producing the carbon nanocoil.

SOLUTION: The catalyst 1 for producing the carbon nanocoil contains a matrix phase 11 consisting of an inorganic material (such as amorphous silica) and metal-containing particulate parts 13 which are dispersed in the matrix phase 11 and each of which contains a metal M (such as Ni) in a metal state and has 0.5-100 nm number-average particle diameter.
