PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely bending a shear reinforcement wire for concrete, which is high in working efficiency and does not cause deformation or abnormity in flatness. SOLUTION: In the invented method for bending a wire by a bender roll unit of a bending machine, the wire is passed under the bottom of an inner holddown roll and is guided to the top of an outer holddown roll so as to be paid out by a given length. Then the outer holddown roll is shifted upward by turning a swinging arm upward so that the wire is bent up toward the anti-gravity side, with the inner holddown roll as a fulcrum. Successively the shear reinforcement wire is bent and shaped to a hoop by repeating paying-out and bending of the wire in sequence. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
