<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered body having excellent mechanical strength compared with the conventional manganese-based oxide sintered body. <P>SOLUTION: The sintered body contains a manganese-based oxide as a main component, and has relative density of not less than 90% and an average size of the constituent particles of not more than 3 μm. In the sintered body, the crystal structure of the manganese-based oxide is a perovskite type crystal structure or a layered perovskite type crystal structure. In the sintered body, inorganic matter is further contained. In the sintered body, the inorganic matter is one or more kinds of oxides selected from nickel oxide, copper oxide and zinc oxide. In the sintered body, the total molar quantity of M (M denotes one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of nickel, copper and zinc) to one mol of manganese contained therein is 0.0001 to 1. Also disclosed are a thermoelectric conversion material composed of the sintered body, and a thermoelectric transducer containing the thermoelectric material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
