PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein a conventional footrest is uncomfortable in resting a foot on the footrest and has no relaxing effect because its surface is hard and lacks resilience and vertical flexure, and also the footrest is slippery when the foot is rested on a foot rest part because of the flatness of its bottom surface. SOLUTION: A footrest has a foot rest part 1 comprising an inclined surface with the top surface inclined in one direction because the thickness of the side surface of the foot rest part 1 is thinner than the opposing side surface, a base part 2 provided with a number of projections on the bottom surface, and a sidewall part 3 comprising a bellows body. The foot rest part 1, the base part 2 and the sidewall part 3 are integrally formed by one material into a hollow box-shaped body, and the box-shaped body can be freely expanded/contracted in a thickness direction by the bellows body of the sidewall part 3.
